What make-up should a waitress wear?

Resolved Question

What make-up should a waitress wear?

Also, as I'll be running around for hours, how do I make sure my make-up doesn't slide/melt/etc? My face turns really oily...how can I prevent this? I have brought really expensive make-up, and still my make-up slides...I use a make-up base (cream) and it still slides...any home remedies for this? And I can't live without wearing kohl/eyeliner...how do I make sure it doesn't smudge? Again, I can't buy any new products! :o)

Tips to make your makeup last longer:

1)Get longer lasting makeup .

2)Use a oil control facial wash before going to work (Tea
tree oil facial wash is good).

3) After washing your face use an oil free moisturiser, neutrogena oil-free moisturiser is very good!

4) Use a felt-tip type eyeliner on the top and bottom of your eye,(rimmel do one a good one) if you do it thinly on the bottom it actually looks like pencil but has much better staying power. If you use a brush/cotton bud/sponge applicator you can smudge it a bit before it drys so it doesn't looks so harsh.

5) Use eyeshadow primer on your eyelids and where you would put your eyeliner so it will stay on much longer.

6) Finish your makeup with a translucent finishing powder/ finishing spray.

7) Try wearing less make-up. The more make-up you wear the less likely it is to stay on.

8) Buy some waterproof makeup - although it is harder to remove it's good for oily skin.

9) Use foundation primer before putting foundation on.

Sorry these steps aren't in order x HTHH!

  • My skin normally goes a bit dodge at the end of the day.
But perhaps try not using any moisturiser and use less foundation and powder to get rid of the shiny bits. Maybe you will have to put on a bit more in your break or something.
A thin line of eyeliner on your top eyelid wont smudge, only if its on bottom it will smudge. Just keep it simple with your makeup. And use a nice eye shadow, so that people notice tht more :)

I hope this hasnt wasted your time and is of some use, its just of my own experience i told you that.:/

  • hay hun, i know how it is!
Well firstly, have you checked what your makeup is made of? meaning the base of it, some are oil based, and if you have oily skin and are running around this is NO good, i wish i could say use so and so product and it will be ok! but there isnt a product out there like that! What i would say is use a powder foundation, or always use a powder to set ur foundation, keep a blot powder (can get this from MAC) or a powder you already have with you! and keep on top of it when u have a chance, always u can use blotting paper, its cheap and takes the oil out of ur skin...

This is a really good thing to do, however i know alot of us ladies dont as we like to have alot of makeup on, use tinted moistureiser, and nooo foundation, or smalllll amount of powder on top on the face, abit of blush, and a water proof mascara, there is alot you can do!

  • Try blotting papers :)
and also dont use much products on your face, it will only make it worse. Just wash, cleanse, tone and mousurise your face each day.
If not your gonna have to just buy some primers (Loreal Primer for foundation, and urban decay for the eyes)
    Good look :)

  • I'm not sure how to stop your make up sliding, other than using a good powder on top of your foundation and re-applying it every now and then.
For your eye liner I would suggest using a liquid one. It's a little tricky to apply if your used to using pencils but it's easy once you get used to it.
  • If serving food, make up should be unobtrusive and unscented. Think how your favourite perfume is going to clash with his Christmas-Present aftershave, YUK!

Was the store where you bought this stuff large enough to have someone who could do you a free make-over? Perhaps just enough to show you how to use the products you have to their best.
  • powder your face. this drys my oily spots up. but sorry to disappoint you, it is the makeup thats not working, not you. so new products are needed.

    estee lauder = amazing.
    neutregina powder products.

dont use liquid concealers. but matte works nicely.
  • wash your face well before you put make up on. also try using mineral foundation and make up, some mineral make up can help skin like that. dont use liquid make up they can make skin greasy and block up pores. finally try to look as natural as possible.
  • Paper bag over the head should do the trick.
