What's the best foundation?

Resolved Question

What's the best foundation?

What's the best foundation if you want to get smooth silky skin?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

I have a few I really like:

1. Avon Magix Cashmere Finish Liquid Foundation. This stuff is amazing! It's very, very light, but delivers great coverage. My skin is generally pretty good, maybe a little dry, so if you need heavier coverage try....

2. Avon Ideal Shade Liquid Foundation. If I'm having a bad skin day this is great. It offers more coverage but it's still pretty light. Plus, it has a very clean scent. I would suggest you use a foundation brush, however.

3. Physician's Formula Organic Wear Tinted Moisturizer. The name is deceiving; this acts like a very light foundation, not a moisturizer (although it does help with that).

All these are under $15 (maybe $10...I don't remember off the top of my head) and Avon has an excellent return policy.

Hairstyle and Makeup for a Casual Dance(HELP)?

Resolved Question

Hairstyle and Makeup for a Casual Dance(HELP)?

I have a singles dance this weekend and it's casual. I don't really know how to style my hair without looking too casual or too done up. I have shoulder length hair. I'm open to anything with makeup. HELP ME!!!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

if you don't mind backcombing your hair casual cna be done well. if yousection of the crown (top front bit) of hair then possibly to 1 or 2 little french plaits up the side of your head put the rest in a pony tail quite high up with the plaits. then back comb the front bit starting at the bottom working up the lenghth of hair, fix in a quiff and wrap the end round the hair tie of the pony tial. that gives quite a cool, slightly rock chikky look, but i dont know if you can understand that. make up: avoid eyeshadow for casual unless it's black, grey or brown, just stay subtle, matt lips, dont overdo foundation, and dont coat your eyelashes in too much mascara, it all just looks like your trying too hard, instead use eyeliner to outline your eyes without looking too try hard

We need to know from you girls?

Resolved Question

We need to know from you girls?

I need to know what you think i should do. I laughed at my best friend when this girl slapped him, because he looked so shocked and he couldn't do anything. I asked him why not just reach and block her smack and he said he can't. I said for sure I would have. He said it's hard to, because of how she did it. Well she stood with her hip to one side and had her hand on top of her hip and used her other hand to slap him. Anyway, i ended up getting into an argument with a girl, and he left before anything happened. She real quick ended up doing the same trick on me though! Different girl though. She had a funny look on her face, goes hmmph! and out went her hip with her hand on her hip. Then smack! with her other hand! I dunno why, but he was right, i froze up, and i can't block it either.Damn! Hate that one. He asked me what happened later, and i said she tried that on me, but i blocked her hand so easy. So he's like "hell yeah, show me how to block that smack, 2 girls used that on me and i can't." So i did, showed him a couple moves, ways to block it, duck too, but he doesn't know i got slapped by that move too, what i showed him doesn't work. What do i do? I don't really wanna say what happened, i was so sure i would be able to block that smack, but i can't either. How do girls use that so i can't? Do i tell him? Or just help me on what to do against girls that use that, will you?

it is a well known fact that, if a girl throws a punch at you, you'll block it, but a slap, well thats different, with a punch, you can see the mucles tense, you have to draw your arm back and throw some power into it, but a slap, that happens the split second you decide to do it, its a natural reaction, i dont think anybody can block a slap. i'd just admit it to my friend, there's no point lying, you'll be found out by someone else and it could cause an argument, just come clean, its the best thing to do
hope i helped xxx

  • In my opinion, it's hard to block a girl's slap. Cause you don't really notice anything when a girl is mad at you. If you have the fast reflexes, yeah, you can block her slap.. but you have to remember that the hands move fast. It's best not to block it. Just take it. Because if she misses the first time, she'll go for an even harder hit. Trust me.
But I think you should tell your friend what really happened.
It takes a real man to admit they were wrong.

no, it's not bad :)
many people use lip gloss to stick glitter on their lids,
just make sure the lip gloss or lipstick doesn't have any of that collagen stuff that plumps up your lips since it may burn!

Also, be careful when you're removing it since it may be sticky and you may want to pull on your lids, dont do it since it causes premature wrinkles :)

  • It is very bad to drag it along the eye area - you must remember the skin around the eyes is paper thin and therefore you will suffer with wrinkles every time you drag anything around (including concealer) I guess if you pat it on with your fingertips and it is a quality brand with no nasty cheap chemicals than you are ok - personally at the age of 43 I wouldnt!
  • its ok provided you dont have any reaction. go ahead and try it. if it irritates you than dont do it again. but i know there must be poeple who do that and we all dont know and think its an eyeshadow lol. try it out nothing wrong.
  • Not necessarily! Make-up is all about experimentation with different looks and products. And most of all it's about having FUN! If you want to use lipstick as an eyeshadow than that is fine! You go girl!
  • yes, get a brighter eyeshadow instead of lipstick because it can really hurt you eyes. and that is quite strange.
  • I never heard of that, but I wouldn't think it would matter. Maybe it would add moisture to your eyelids, which you would not want soo.....
  • No, though you might find that lipstick gathers in the crease after a while.
  • I would recommend the eye liner that you put on the top of you eye. They are normally quite bright

    Source(s):

  • Its not bad.
But if you want bright eye-shadow, why not try to use eye-liner.
It gives a solid line (:

  • No its not bad, its creative!!
  • As long as you like the result, it is cool.

How to keep my face from getting oily?

How to keep my face from getting oily?

My face is really annoying me because half way through the morning it gets really oily even though i ve washed my face in the morning. Can you recommend any good face powders etc. or things that can solve it

thank you x

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

No powder. You'll have to keep applying it all throughout the day as your face produces oils.

I suggest getting Clean and Clear oil blotting papers. You can get them at any drugstore, walmart or target.

  • Use a primer before you put on your makeup but don't put on both primer and moisteriser. Do one or the other.
  • Try blotting papers they take away the oil and you can usually get them at any drugstore for cheap.
  • Try using oil-blotting sheets throughout the day to absorb the excess oil.
  • wash your face with warm salty water to clear the bloakage from bacteria you will see the results ;] trust it works

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

The second man who picked it up isn't wrong. He probably wasn't aware that someone else was trying on the jacket at the time. The guy who was trying it on does not have a claim over the jacket and it was his own fault to leave it unattended. If he wanted it so bad, then he would've taken it with him when he went to the other mirror. At the end of the day, its not stealing because it wasn't his in the first place.

Anyway, if there is only one, the second one has the right to buy it as the first left it behind when he moved across the shop.

Girls, is it wrong to feel reliant on make up for self confidence? :(?

Resolved Question

Girls, is it wrong to feel reliant on make up for self confidence? :(?

Ii'm a 15 year old girl living in England and I used to suffer from severe acne, and I've been left with red marks under my skin, luckily not the 'crater' marks, and I also have a very uneven skin tone. Without make-up, I feel I look awful; really, really bad and I have no self confidence- if I were to go out like that, I would be covering my face and looking down the entire time. With a small dab of concealer or foundation, it makes a huge difference and I feel like a different person. Also, a small flick of mascara and my face is lifted. I feel really stupid having to rely on make up like this. I wouldn't stop wearing it but the change in self confidence is dramatic...
what do you think? :/

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

If that's how makeup makes you feel and it increases your self-esteem, sista, go for it!! hahah. It's completely normal for girls to rely on makeup to feel pretty. We are all gorgeous without makeup, of course, we have our flaws, but that's nature. All makeup does is contour our characteristics and make us look prettier than what we aree! :]

  • I feel the same and I do not think it's wrong. You just feel insecure without perfect skin (like most people) just like other girls feel insecure with greasy hair and rely on daily shampooing (even though it's bad for the scalp) for their self-confidence.

If you don't want to rely on foundation and concealer, then try using different creams to fade the red marks.
  • i feel the same with make up but i think if you
feel more confident then go for it as long as you dont
go over the top and look worse with make up on #

do what ever feels best for you dont feel stupid alot of
girls are the same as you :D

    hope this helped
  • Yea I have acne and blemishes too and I have started wearing foundation a year ago. I feel alot better about myself. I still use acne creams and stuff to try and keep my acne under control but I always wear my foundation. Do what makes you feel good.
  • i know exactly how you feel...i think its better to leave the house with confidence then low self esteem. if makeup gives you a little bit more confidence go for it.
  • I'm 15 and I'm exactly the same.
And I have a best friend that is beautiful without make up so it completely sucks.
I'm hoping your question will help me too so thank you lol.

  • i dont see anything wrong with that, as long as you are happy with yourself.

  • It all depends on the mascara. Some might, some might now.
Try testing it at first. Go into a bathroom, turn the water on as hot as you can and stay in there (close to the shower or even in the shower, just don't get wet) and see how well your mascara stays on.
Otherwise don't bother wearing any at all.

    Source(s):

  • i've used many different brands of waterproof mascara, and i have never had it melt off. the worst that happens is that little tiny flecks come off and land under your eyes.

bring along some makeup remover wipes. they sell some at dollar tree that work just fine.

or i sometimes use Oil of Olay lotion to remove makeup. you have to be really careful not to get it in your eyes. it's a bit greasy. but it sure gets rid of waterproof mascara!

    Source(s):

  • As long as you don't actually get your face wet, you should be fine. Though the steam may cause it to smudge slightly.

dry skin? use cream foundation
combinationskin? use liquid or powder
oily skin? use mat foundation

people with sensitive skin should use mineral foundation

make sure you keep good care of your skin, dnt use too much foundation, moisterise your skin before you apply it and always wash it off before you go to bed

foundation doesn't cause breakout's ashe, leaving it on at night and not taking good care of your skin is what causes the spots

  • I have the same deal- I have clear skin but yet I super sensitive skin. You might try Clinique- it blends in well and doesn't make your face look cakey, as long as you don't continously put in on. Give it a few good taps with the sponge and you'd be good to go(: I use Clinique Pressed powder- you might try that.
  • Don't use any foundation whether it be liquid, powder, or mineral. They will all age your skin faster. They also promote breakouts, oily skin, dry skin, and uneven areas.

I suggest getting a nice tinted moisturizer. It will hydrate your skin as well as give you the coverage you want.
  • try to find unscented foundations that dont have perfumes in them, that might be the problem. or maybe you just have really dry skin so put on some extra moisturizer before applying foundation. i used maybelline matte mousse and it doesnt give me dry skin, but thats just me. and it works really well, too
  • i would totally reccomend using sheer cover, not foundation! it works soo good, you only use a little to cover up a zit :] what i usually do is put some face moisturizer on so my face isnt dry, and then i will use sheer cover.
    hope i helped you!

If it's the one in the bottle, it's medium coverage foundation,It leaves your skin with a beautiful dewy radiance and offers terrific, natural-looking coverage.
If you mean the powder(I prefer the powder if you don't have time for make up) it's mineral make up and it doesn't get cake-y or leave your skin overly dry.

Can a mixture of lemon juice and milk make skin paler?

Resolved Question

Can a mixture of lemon juice and milk make skin paler?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Supposedly it is a home remedy for making skin paler. But both of these ingredients will clog your pores and dry out your skin (acid). A better remedy (I've heard) is to mix 50/50 of lemon juice and honey. The lemon juice will pale the skin the most, honey will pale the skin and at the same time give a lot of moisture to the skin so you don't damage the skin while bleaching. You apply this to face and body, leave it there for 15 minutes and then wash it off. According to this site http://www.fatfreekitchen.com/beauty/com… you will after 10 days of doing this continuously see results.

  • they can, but I'd recommend to use them separately. with lemon juice you can overdry your skin, so it is not good to use it very often. but it is very helpful if you have oily skin. And u can wash your face with milk every day for some weeks. It whitens skins, make it more smooth and is very good for sensitive skin.

Lemon - don't use too much, only a few drops in some water for steaming your face. It is a bleaching agent.

How much makeup is too much?

Resolved Question

How much makeup is too much?

I'm a 16 year old boy and recently one of my female friends gave me some concealer to hide a spot I had. It worked well and have now got my own and use it when I need to. A while after she suggested as I'd try that I should try mascara. I thought that was a bit silly but just went along with it and was amazed how much better I looked with it on. I think this may be pushing it a little far but surely if it makes me look better it would be ok? That just gets me thinking about other things too as it makes girls look better should I try them too or is the whole thing just stupid? But surely if you look better and you like it you should do it? I don't know what to think!

  • Well, too much makeup is when you start looking like a transvestite or a clown. But, a little bit of concealer and mascara really isn't much. You should also try a foundation if you have uneven skin. My favorites are for heavy coverage-Estee Lauder Double Wear. Looks like you aren't wearing makeup, natural-Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals Foundation. Also a peachy blush would look nice with the foundation. I would suggest one from Nars or MAC.

  • I personally don't think guys should wear makeup except if they are going to be on camera and need to reduce shine and enhance their features.

I understand using concealer to cover up blemishes - but mascara may make your eyes look feminine and that's not always attractive to women.

However, if you're comfortable wearing concealer and mascara then you should do what makes you feel comfortable.

  • What you are wearing definitely doesn't seem like too much.
Too much is when you look like a completely different person without it, also if people start to talk about it then it's definitely too much. People don't tend to talk about the amount of makeup you wear unless it's too much really.

Best Answer - Chosen by Voters

Just dust your face with a light transparent power to make them less noticeable but it really doesn't matter - emo is about being unique. Just be yourself.

I have never worn foundation because I have dry skin so it doesn't go on smoothly. I find a loose or pressed powder works just as well.
