Resolved Question

I want to do a smokey eyed makeup look but I have pale skin...?

I can't really use black because its too harsh as I have pale skin and DARK hazel eyes..

What colours should I use to achieve the best look for my eye colour and skin tone? x

Lucky for you-- smokey eyes look BEST with pale skin. You don't need black for smokey eyes. Go for dark colors, but stick to navys and plums. It works the same way and doesn't look nearly as severe as black. Buy a dark plum eye liner and make it fairly thick along your lash line, and then smudge it. Buy eyeshadow that comes with two shades of plum... take the darker shade and stark working it in from your eyeliner line up to the crease of you eye. Then take the lighter plum, and blend the darker plum around the crease and a bit above. To finish, use a cream shimmer and hilite under your eyebrow. If you'd like, you can do the same to the bottom of your eye. It's more dramatic. Dark plum eyeliner, smudge it, and add a tiny bit of the dark plum eyeshadow.
You don't have to use plum either, like I said you can use dark shades of navy, or even green. Brown you could use as well but to me never looked smokey enough. Have fun!
Make sure to use a lot of mascara too.

  • I would suggest a dark purple. They would set off your hazel eyes great and purple will not be as dark. I would also try a deep gray, gray is really in this season for eyes. Mark has a great gray called Corset and info on how to use it right.

  • I actually have eyes that are good for using darker colors.

If your eyes are dark hazel, then go with neutral - dark grays.
  • I would use clinique dark brown eyeliner and then focus on more of a gray shimmer and dark brown instead of a black it will make your eyes pop and not wash out your skin
  • use silvers and charcoals, you can still use dark colours and look great even with pale skin x
  • greys and silvers,,, or browns,,, any other dark colours you have shades of that compliment your skin colour..x
  • Light Black Then Going In To A Grey
  • dark brown will be the best and diffrent brown shades
  • maybe like dark browns or greys? i dunno
  • grey
