Natural school makeup?

Resolved Question

Natural school makeup?

Hey all,
I was just wondering if any of you knows how to achieve a natural school makeup look. At the moment i go really over the top with eyeliner and things and i'd like to be a bit more natural every now and then. I have blue/green eyes with a brown streak, pale/medium skin, freckles and a few spots.
Thanks for helping me!!

I look identical to you! Lol And I Do This:
Foundation that's the exact same as my skkin colour, then I pencil in abit of my eyebrow (You dont have to, it was an eye brow disaster I had a few weeks ago), then I start putting brown eyeliner on my bottom line but I stop about a third of the way so It makes you eyes look alot bigger. Then I put one light coat of mascara on, Vaseline on my lips and I'm ready to go.

  • Something quick that'll go with any look:
A light brown or goldish eye shadow, not too much though because then it'll look too dark and make you look like you have dark circles under your eyes. just swipe it on the lid, only the lid. Then use a dark brown eyes liner and draw it as close to the eyelashes as possible on the top from where the eye lashes start to where they end. On your bottom lid do the same except make sure you dont go to dark, because then you look like a wanna be emo kid. not a good look. two or three swipes of dark brown or brown black mascara. cover up for the spots to make sure its your color test it at your jaw bone if it blends righ t in then its the right color. A light blush right on the cheek bones for a healthy look and if you want a bit of lip gloss. and tada a natural look!

  • light foundation, bit of a more dark blusher to rub onyourcheeks but near ur ear, thin top eyeliner and some mascara and thats what i do, and if you dont like your colour lips put some foundation on them + rub in obvs. xxxx
    0% 0 Votes
  • get rid of the eyeliner, that's more of a night time look thing. For school, you should wear lip gloss, mascara, a tint of blush and that's it..it gives you a fresh, natural & pretty look..without having to try so hard..

  • use eyeliner but only one coat, dont make it too definate; same with mascara, use natural lip glosses or tinted lip balms, dont apply foundation but u can use blusher, if u save make-up for parties etc, people notice it alot more

Which mascara do you think is the best?

Resolved Question

Which mascara do you think is the best?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Hi,

For name brand mascara, try these.

I use Blinc Kiss Me Mascara. I love this mascara, it's the best! It uses "tube" technology. It doesn't "paint" your lashes, it "tubes" them. They come off effortlessly with warm water and soap.

http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?…

For ultra-glam lashes, try DiorShow Mascara. This is the diva's mascara. It will give your lashes that are thick, long, and curled.

http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?…

For drugstore brands, try Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara. I'm pretty sure you have heard about it. It's the one in the pink and green tube. It's the #1 selling mascara in America. This mascara has won many beauty awards, you can see in the link. They have 4 different types: Great Lash BIG Washable Mascara, Great Lash Waterproof Mascara, Great Lash Washable Curved Brush Mascara, and Great Lash Washable Mascara. I really like Maybelline because they have different shades of black and brown: Blackest Black, Very Black, Soft Black, Brownish Black, and Dark Brown. They may seem the same, but can really make a difference depending on the look you're going for. Maybelline's mascara are smudge and smear proof and hypoallergenic. Hypoallergenic means it is suitable for people with sensitive eyes and for contact lens wearers. I also love it because the one I use is washable. It comes off effortlessly just by washing your face.

CoverGirl Lash Blast Mascara looks like a good one too. It's also smudge and smear proof, hypoallergenic, and comes in 4 shades.

You can buy these at Target and Walmart, and drugstores like Walgreens and CVS.

Hope this helps.

  • Sephora sells a great eyeshadow quad for smokey eyes and it comes with an instruction manual on exactly how to do it. It's smokey eyes made easy even for beginners.

    You can also try this:
    1. Get a black, gray, tan (or beige if you're light skinned) and creamy white eyeshadow, black eyeliner, and black mascara.
    2. Line your eyes with black eyeliner, concentrating a bit on the top lid. Then slightly smudge the top liner.
    3. Apply black eyeshadow over your main lid.
    4. Apply the gray into your crease.
    5. Apply the tan over the gray shadow and apply the creamy white onto your browbone.
    6. Apply mascara.
    7. Practice, practice, practice! You have to learn where to concentrate the color on your eyes.
There are also good tutorials on youtube, so you can check there if you need a more visual explanation.

Good luck and hope my answer helped!

  • the only thing i can say is go very easy with whatever products you use. Chances are you just using too much at once, the best thing to do is start with a light grey shadow over your lid , then use a darker shade in the crease, and a tuch of black at the outer corners, then use a liner in the top and bottom and gently smudge with a small smudging brush preferably, i think this is a great tutorial and if you follow her directions exactly (don't worry about using the same products and brushes just use the closest alternative you can find, i got some really cheap great brushes from elf) and then just practice until you get it right. Trying something for the first time just as you about to head out the door always ends in disaster!! sorry this is such a long answer hope it wasn't too repetitive!

I find a good mousse just as good if not better. The 'Maybelline dream Matt Mousse' range are terrific, and very reasonable too. Depending on where you buy it.... it can be from £4.99 to £7.99 (in the UK)

However, they also do a concealer:

I really want a lovely looking lipgloss, but that doesn't make your hair stick to your lips on windy days...does anyone know of one? Please, only suggest if you have tried and tested it yourself and it works =)
Thankyou!

I know of a couple that you can buy, but only if you're in the UK.

Boots No7 lipgloss is non sticky and great
And also Natural Collection (also from Boots) is nicely non-hair-sticky!

Hope that helps!

How good is the avon spectracolour lipstick?

Resolved Question

How good is the avon spectracolour lipstick?

Plus, does it last long?
Thanks in advance

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

it's great. you have 7 colours in one so you don't need a load of different lipsticks. It's long lasting so you don't need to carry it around with you.
I would recommend that you use a brush to put it on as the top is very wide and this makes the lipstick smudge onto your face.
Another problem i find is that the top doesn't tend to stay on in my make up bag. so just make sure you lock it at the bottom and that wont be a problem!

Pull the outer part of ur eye out. just put ur index finger and pull then with your other hand apply the eyeliner as close as u can to ur eyelashes! and keep going over it until u have the perfect line. the more u do it the better you get!

also if u mess up just simply fix it with a Q-tip. they work good to keep the eyeliner straight and not crooked!

  • I agree.
Invest in a liquid liner that is more like a pen.
I find it really difficult to apply when it's like a paintbrush and it goes all wonkey as well (I just don't have a steady hand! Even though I do all of those things people say, pull my eye lids out at the corners and stay close to the lash).

A cheap and really good one is Bourjois Liner Feutre. It's like a thin felt tip pen and it's really easy to apply. Also it goes on really dark so you only have to do one line - hate those ones that go on light and you get a perfect line, then have to go over it and it goes all crappy. But with this is goes on nice and thick and dark, and easier not to go wonkey.

    But practice definitely makes perfect!
    Good Luck!
  • Practice, practice, practice.

Also, get the right liner - I actually use a kohl liner after using liquid liner for years and never being able to get it completely straight. Personally, I find you have more control and a better colour with a pencil.

    Source(s):

  • When you apply don't worry about making a mess, take a cotton bud and some make up remover and straighten it up this way, this also works it you are trying to do your own french manicure! x
  • Just pull your eyelind out (towards your temples) while applying the eyeliner. Stay really close to the eyelashes.
  • Its takes practice but the slower you are the more likely it will go wrong be confident. Just like you were taking a pen and drawing a straight line on a peice of paper good luck
  • gently pull/stretch your eyelid to the side so that your lash line is straight and then practice thats the only way really!
  • i pull my eyelid by the outer corner outward until the eyelid is like a straight line. it is soooo much easier.
  • Just practice as much as you can :]
  • .
  • easy..

get a liquid liner with a more sturdy tip like lancome or loreal..

that way you wont go wrong..

    :-))
  • practise!!!

Using tea bags on your eyes has been a popular beauty tip for years! While the caffeine makes you look more awake, teabags are also a great eye soother. Also, you don't need to put the tea bags in water overnight, as they will be more effective if you dip them in some warm water minutes before you use it!

What Is A Good Foundation For Combination Skin?

Resolved Question

What Is A Good Foundation For Combination Skin?

I have combination skin (oily t-zone and dry cheeks) and am thinking about buying Dream Satin Liquid Foundation by Maybelline because it seems to be the best quality one I can buy for that price on eBay!! Lots of people say Benefit and Mac (which I know are fantastic - I've tried them) but truth is I'm a student on a budget!!

Just a note: I prefer oil free ones, because if they are oily within half an hour they begin running down my face. And not one thats too dry either - as I said, I've got Combination Skin.

Basically, I'm looking for a cheap, good quality, non-oily, non-drying, lasting, red cheek covering and not orange foundation. (A bit specific, but hey - a foundation that's close enough!!)

Thanks. xxx

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

I am a retired makeup artist and i usually opt for the "HIGH END" brands such as mac or bobbi brown but I also use revlon colorstay foundation. It comes in dry skin, oil free or combination so you can choose your skin type. It also stays on throughout the day so no need to reapply or worry about your foundation running off! I primarily use this foundation on wedding days bc nobody wants their makeup to smear on their $1000+ wedding dress =) Hope that helps!!!

  • Hi

I would avoid buying of ebay if you can - you can't be guaranteed to get the good quality that you would get direct from the manufacturer. I know, it's easier said than done ... And when there's a bargain to be had!

Rather than going for a liquid version like the Maybelline one - what about a cream to powder foundation? This would probably be more suitable for your skin type and will give you the coverage you're looking for on your t-zone. I work for VIE at home and we sell a product like this called One Step Face Base. I've got very similar skin to you and I use it - it doesn't feel too heavy and it builds up in the areas I need it to whilst not feeling too heavy - it also lasts for ages! (I bought mine a year ago and it's still going strong. http://shop.vieathome.com/product.aspx?p=sale-one-step-face-base&id=25&q=1 It's possible that you may find similar copycat style products to this on the high street if this is a little high for your budget?

I want to do a smokey eyed makeup look but I have pale skin...?

Resolved Question

I want to do a smokey eyed makeup look but I have pale skin...?

I can't really use black because its too harsh as I have pale skin and DARK hazel eyes..

What colours should I use to achieve the best look for my eye colour and skin tone? x

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Lucky for you-- smokey eyes look BEST with pale skin. You don't need black for smokey eyes. Go for dark colors, but stick to navys and plums. It works the same way and doesn't look nearly as severe as black. Buy a dark plum eye liner and make it fairly thick along your lash line, and then smudge it. Buy eyeshadow that comes with two shades of plum... take the darker shade and stark working it in from your eyeliner line up to the crease of you eye. Then take the lighter plum, and blend the darker plum around the crease and a bit above. To finish, use a cream shimmer and hilite under your eyebrow. If you'd like, you can do the same to the bottom of your eye. It's more dramatic. Dark plum eyeliner, smudge it, and add a tiny bit of the dark plum eyeshadow.
You don't have to use plum either, like I said you can use dark shades of navy, or even green. Brown you could use as well but to me never looked smokey enough. Have fun!
Make sure to use a lot of mascara too.

Can I apply a layer of light pink nail varnish on the bottom before putting on my purple one?

u can use the pink as a base if u want to, but the base coat is just to help the paint last longer and keep from chipping, but u could also just use a clear coat as the base and the top coat.

  • But surely putting light pink varnish underneath is the same as putting the purple directly on.
I wouldn't worry. I don't put it on. And I use dark and bright colours like Blue, black, purple, hot pink.
    And my nails are fine.
If you have top coat you could use that as a base? It's clear and doesn't stain.
